Why Authenticity Matters in Limited Edition Prints

When you buy one of my limited prints, I want you to know you’re holding something truly special—something that came from me, from my studio, and nowhere else. That’s why I go to extra lengths to protect the authenticity of every single piece.
Before any print leaves Scribblers, it doesn’t just get signed and numbered. It goes through a little process that I’ve developed to make sure you know your artwork is genuine.
First, I watermark the print on the back. This isn’t just about adding a mark—it’s about giving you peace of mind. It tells you this piece is mine, created and issued directly from me, not a copy floating around somewhere else.
Then comes my favourite part: the fine detailing. Each print goes through my Cricut machine, which adds tiny, intricate details—almost like the marks you see on a banknote. They’re subtle, but they’re there to remind you that this print is original, one of a kind, and created with care.
On the reverse side, I make it personal. I add my “Made in Scribblers” logo, the title of the print, the edition number (like 3/10), and my artist name, artbydturner. These details tie everything together.
And finally, to seal it all, each print comes with a certificate of authenticity. This certificate records the story of the artwork and matches the edition number written on your print. Together, they’re your guarantee that what you’re holding is part of a very limited, carefully made collection.
For me, it’s about trust. If you’ve chosen to bring my work into your home, then I owe you more than just a picture—I owe you reassurance that it’s genuine, original, and part of something rare.
That’s why I take the time with these little details. They might seem small, but they mean everything when it comes to making sure your print is truly yours.
