Why ArtByDTurner Has Two Logos

When you create art, you also create an identity. For me, that identity isn’t captured by just one image but by two. Each logo has its own role, its own meaning, and together they tell the story of who I am as both an artist and a person.

The Round Stamp – My Watermark of Freedom

The round stamp logo is something I use as a watermark on every piece of art I share online. It acts like a seal of authenticity: Made in Scribblers Studio – Originals by D. Turner.

But it’s more than just protection for my work. At the heart of the emblem is my motorbike — a passion of mine. Riding gives me the freedom of the road, the chance to reach the landscapes and places that inspire me most. That sense of freedom flows straight into my artwork. Just as I can choose any road to travel, I can choose any subject, any medium, and any way to express it. The stamp captures that connection between my adventures and my creativity.

The Main Logo – A Story of Recovery and Connection

My main logo, the one many recognise as ArtByDTurner, is based on my Triumph Tiger 1200. The design comes from a very personal moment: the day I sat with my two cameras' over the bike, recording every detail of Roseberry Topping.

That day mattered, because my charcoal drawing of Roseberry Topping is part of this logo. It symbolises not just a place I love, but my own road — my ongoing recovery over many years. Every line in that drawing connects back to resilience, persistence, and the determination to keep moving forward. The logo blends two passions — art and motorcycling — into a single emblem of my journey.

Why Two Logos?

Because my story has layers.

  • The stamp is my working mark, a practical and symbolic seal that travels with every image I share.

  • The main logo is more personal, rooted in my bike, my favourite landscape, and my recovery story.

Both are me. Both tell different parts of the same journey: one about freedom, the other about endurance. Together, they create a fuller picture of what ArtByDTurner stands for.

Closing Reflection

Art isn’t just about paper, canvas, or medium. It’s about identity, memory, and movement. My logos remind me daily of where I’ve been and where I’m going. The freedom of the road, the stillness of a sketch, and the patience of recovery all come together here. And that, more than anything, is why I carry two logos, not one.
